They are 5-3-1 overall when trailing heading into the third for a League-best .556 win percentage… the only team in the League above .500 in that department, and one of just two teams (along with the Stars) to have fewer than 10 games in which they’ve been behind after two periods.
They’ve already more than doubled last season’s win total in such situations; the 2014-15 Caps were 2-18-3 when behind after forty minutes, which put them in the bottom third of the League. Even with that season, they’ve got the best comeback win percentage of any team since 2008-09, earning two points in just under 24% of those games over the last eight seasons.
