The Noon Number: Road Tested

7 – The number of consecutive road games in which Braden Holtby has given up no more than two goals, and nine of his ten road starts overall this season. Per Elias, that matches the longest such streak by a Capitals goaltender, a mark set by Pat Riggin in January/February 1984 (which included three straight shutouts) and previously matched by Olie Kolzig in November/December 1997.

Holtby has a 7-2-1 record on the road this year, with a 1.99 GAA and a save percentage of .929. He’ll get a chance to continue that mastery tonight against the Penguins at CONSOL Energy Center, where he is 2-2-0 in his career with a .949 save percentage and a shutout.
