2 – Number of Eastern Conference teams that the Caps have yet to beat this season… and the number of Eastern Conference teams that the Caps have yet to play, as the Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders are the only teams in the Eastern Conference that have not come up on the Caps’ schedule through the season’s first 34 games.
The Caps will get two chances to cross the Sabres off of their list between tonight and Wednesday, but will have to wait until January 7 to get a crack at completing the set when they travel to Brooklyn to face the Islanders.
