Your savory breakfast links:
- Recaps of last night’s disposal of the Flyers from us, Vogs, Monumental video (Trotz, Ovechkin, Chimera, Williams, Oshie), NHL.com, WaPo, CSNMA (and again), AP, PHT, Frankovic, DSP, Stars and Sticks, RMNB, Peerless and Broad Street Hockey.
- Once again, the world thought Alex Ovechkin broke Sergei Fedorov‘s record for most goals by a Russian-born player. Once again, the world was wrong. [CSNMA (and again), RMNB (and again)]
- Evgeny Kuznetsov is droppin’ dimes, as the kids say. [Puck Daddy]
- From Elias: Jason Chimera, who entered play on Thursday with no points in his last eight games, broke his slump by scoring two goals with one assist in the Capitals‘ 5-2 win in Philadelphia. Chimera notched all his points in a 7:33 span during the second period, sandwiching an assist between a pair of power play goals. This is the seventh time that Chimera has tallied at least three points in one game during his 15-year NHL career but it’s only the second time that he’s had a three-point period. There must be something about Philadelphia that brings out the best in Chimera, since his other three-point period was also against the Flyers at Wells Fargo Center. He posted one goal and two assists in the second period of Washington’s 7-0 win there on Nov. 1, 2013.

- And how about 483 of the 3,892 that preceded it? [NHL Numbers]

- Finally, it’s funny because it’s true (ugh):
Justin Williams said he should be up for the Selke because he’s doing a good job shutting Ovechkin down.
