Per Stephen Whyno, Troy Brouwer is sick and will miss tonight’s game against the Bruins, Wojtek Wolski will get back in the lineup in his place, the third- and fourth-line centers flip slots, and Steve Oleksy (wearing #61) will make his Capitals debut alongside Tom Poti in the third pairing of blueliners. So expect the lines and defensive pairings in front of Braden Holtby (who is making his tenth-straight start):
Matt Hendricks — Mike Ribeiro – Alex Ovechkin
Wojtek Wolski – Nicklas Backstrom – Eric Fehr
Jason Chimera – Jay Beagle – Joel Ward
Aaron Volpatti – Mathieu Perreault – Joey Crabb
That leaves Jeff Schultz as a healthy scratch, and Mike Green, Brooks Laich, Jack Hillen and Marcus Johansson out with injuries (in addition to Brouwer and his illness).
“But what about Roman Hamrlik?” you ask. The Caps placed Hamrlik on waivers earlier today, effectively stopping Hamr’s time in Washington (for now, at least).
