Tonight’s 8-Bit Lines: Holtby Holds Down the Fort

Per Alex Prewitt, Braden Holtby will set a new franchise record with his 23rd-straight appearance when he gets the start tonight. Beyond that, Barry Trotz is being cagey and may or may not make changes in front of his ironman goaltender – so for now, here’s what the lines and defensive pairings could look like tonight in Philly:

8-19-65

Alex OvechkinNicklas BackstromAndre Burakovsky

92-90-20

Marcus JohanssonEvgeny Kuznetsov Troy Brouwer

21-16-42

Brooks LaichEric FehrJoel Ward

44-74

Brooks OrpikJohn Carlson

27-2

That leaves Justin Peters once again backing up Holtby (before heading to Hershey for a conditioning stint), Michael Latta and Nate Schmidt possibly out as healthy scratches, and Dmitry Orlov, John Erskine and Aaron Volpatti still on the IR.
