2 – Richard Panik’s League-wide rank in both five-on-five points/60 (6.72) and relative Corsi-For percentage (15.94%) since the trade deadline (minimum 15 minutes played). In the five games since the deadline, Panik has posted five points (1-4-5).
He’s also helped to reinvigorate a fourth line that had been struggling to produce; since being put together, the trio has an even-strength CF% of 61.5% and SCF% of 78.3, and Garnet Hathaway snapped a 24-game goalless streak with three in his last five since the lineup change.
Small sample size warnings abound, but it does seem as if – for now, at least – the Caps have their fourth line clicking again.
