As the JP staff get things up and running (not to mention have a well-deserved recharge period), I figured the Playoff Threads were an okay place to drop Capitals news bits of interest in lieu of the Caps Clips
Namely, Ivan Miroshnichenko’s KHL contract has been terminated and the Capitals are in discussion with his reps. Miro’s contract was supposed to run through next season, but this means he’ll be coming over to North America a season sooner.

Glorious morning after watching the Bruins meltdown. The Caps series loss to the Canadiens is now a distant memory in the history of hockey choke jobs.
Was really hoping to see Toronto knocked out but I guess we may have to wait for the Bruins to give it a shot. Edmonton is unreal as far as the powerplay – McDavid and Draisatil are so so so good. NYR/NJD kinda boring for me
Really? I want to see Leafs finally win a series and definitely prefer them over the Bruins.
I’d like to see Toronto get past Tampa because I’m tied of the Lightning. After that, I’m indifferent. It would be interesting to see them win this round despite the goaltending instead of because of it.
Fancy me in the knock Toronto out team. There fans annoy me. But also I wanna see Boston go down early because Marchand and my bitterness towards the President’s Trophy
Thanks for the thread, this will give us a place to vent. Tough luck for TBL, it looks like they don’t have that little extra that in previous years got them through most of the time. All eight matchups are fun to watch, just wish the Wild were doing better.

Didn’t watch much last night, but wonder what people though about the Foligno hit on Faksa. Game callers didn’t think it should have been a major, but it sounded like their rules guy said yes. That stuff always looks bad when it happens, but it stinks once you throw the offender out of the game and the guy who got hurt is back playing five minutes later. (To be fair, I don’t think it was that soon, but he did come back into the game.)
It appears defense and goaltending are optional in the Oilers/Kings game
