    • “We have a very good team.” Nicklas Backstrom chats with Swedish media. [Aftonbladet]
    • Per Elias: The Capitals extended their winning streak to five games by overcoming a 3-1 deficit at the end of the first period to beat the Rangers, 7-3, in New York on Sunday. Two nights earlier Washington trailed, 3-0, at home against Tampa Bay but scored five straight goals to beat the Lightning, 5-3. This is the fifth time in franchise history that the Capitals have won consecutive games by overcoming a deficit of at least two goals in each, but it’s only the second time they’ve done so with two straight regulation-time wins. The only other time they did so was with back-to-back 5-4 wins against the New Jersey Devils and the Hartford Whalers in 1986 (Feb. 1-2).
