Plus: They got a point. I guess that’s something.

Minus: Rasmus Sandin was hit just as the buzzer rang to end the first period. A big scuffle happened because of it. Sandin did not return. These Caps just can’t catch a break on the injury front all season.

Key Moment: With only a couple minutes left in the game, Charlie Lindgren made a huge save in tight to keep it tied. The Caps went down and nearly scored themselves but were off by inches. Still, the save was crucial to get to overtime.

Caps Player of the Game: Tom Wilson worked his butt off the whole game, even leaving for an injury concern at some point. He came back and took a huge shot block on the penalty kill. You love to see it.

Final Thoughts: In a game the Caps absolutely needed to win, they simply…didn’t. The Caps continue to show that fast teams, even if they aren’t all that good, give them fits. It’s obviously not something they can fix this season, but speed and youth need to be a huge focus for the offseason.

The Caps have been unlucky lately, shown tonight with a couple posts, but they simply have to find a way to win. Playing a tired, bad team should have been the fix, but alas it wasn’t.
