Capitals vs. Red Wings Recap: Caps Steal a Huge Game with 2-1 Win

Plus: Getting two quick goals is a great way to take the life out of an arena that had, up to that point, had plenty to cheer for, and the Caps got that late in the second period with back-to-back goals about two minutes apart from Dylan Strome and Alex Ovechkin.

Minus: The Caps were absolutely steamrolled through the first 35 minutes, and for a good portion of the third. Thank god for Charlie Lindgren.

Key Moment: Captain Clutch.

Caps Player of the Game: Charlie Lindgren…for a change. 42 saves for The Outlaw and almost a shutout if it weren’t for the Red Wings’ resident criminal. Still, I think he’ll take it (and we sure as hell will).

Final Thoughts: Just a huge win for the boys. Massive. And much-needed.
