Capitals vs. Rangers Third Period Thread

Anything you can do, I can do better.

That’s the message the Capitals and Rangers have sent each other through two periods here at Capital One Arena.

With the Capitals on the power play early in the frame, Alex Ovechkin rifled home an assist from John Carlson from above the circle to make it 2-1 Washington.

But with 7 minutes remaining in the frame and New York on a power play of its own, Jimmy Vesey tapped home a goalmouth deflection to tie this one at 2-2.

But the Captain, steady and true, replied with a mighty, Nyet. With Jesper Fast in the penalty box, Ovechkin let loose with a rebel yell from his office, staking the Caps to a 3-2 lead after two periods.

Third period ahead…
