Plus: This team may not have a lot of firepower or top-end talent right now, especially with the injuries/suspensions…but man, do they have a ton of heart. Plenty of times they could’ve quit in this one, and they simply didn’t.

Minus: It’s really kind of stunning to see what’s happened to Darcy Kuemper’s game this season. There have been times when his team has let him down, for sure (look no further than the second goal tonight) but he’s simply not making the saves he needs to make, and he doesn’t look comfortable on the ones he makes.

Key Moment: Dylan Strome, the only one to score in a shootout after a 12-goal regulation, grabs the extra point (in more ways than one).

Caps Player of the Game: Gotta be the Son-Man, the Hustle King himself, Sonny Milano with his first-career hat trick (although extra shout-out to Caps’ video coach Emily Engel-Natzke, who more than earned her salary tonight).

Final Thoughts: …anyone else exhausted?
