Capitals vs. Ducks Recap: A Bear-y Good Night as Caps Win, 2-0

Plus: There’s been an uptick in offense from blueliners lately, and the latest to join the party was Ethan Bear, who picked up his first goal as a Cap (and became the second Capital in a week to pick up his first goal in almost exactly a year).
Minus: The Caps continue to struggle with scoring in general, managing to get just one past John Gibson before adding another in the empty net courtesy of Tom Wilson.

Key Moment: Welcome to the scoresheet – and thanks for the nuggets – Mr. Bear!

Caps Player of the Game: Loving the goal by Bear but congrats to Darcy Kuemper on his first shutout of the season! A nice bounceback for the netminder who has been struggling a little in recent weeks (months).

Final Thoughts: It wasn’t exactly pretty, and it came against a tired Ducks team that is already missing a lot of its firepower (which it didn’t have much of to begin with), but a win is a win, and the Caps did a good job with the little things tonight to secure the victory.
