Per Michael Russo, the Caps have inked center Nic Dowd to a new deal (terms not available yet). Dowd was a late draft pick by the Kings back in 2009, but split last season between LA and the Vancouver Canucks.
With Jay Beagle likely headed to Vancouver on a hefty four-year, $12 million deal, Dowd likely merely provides another option for the Caps to fill in the bottom six once the season starts.
Dowd is coming off of a two-year deal with an AAV of $640,000.
