A look at a physical start for the Caps in Game 1

51 - Number of hits the Capitals were credited with in Game 1, their highest hit total in a postseason game since leveling 59 hits on Toronto during their 2017 series. It was just the eighth time in the last 15 seasons that they Caps have topped 50 hits in a single postseason game.

In this young postseason there has already been plenty of physicality across the board; in fact, the Caps are one of five teams so far - out of the eight total who have kicked off their postseason - with at least 50 hits to their credit in Game 1.
