…the number of consecutive seasons in which the Caps have scored at least 3.00 goals per game while also giving up at least 2.90 goals per game. They are the only team to have done so over each of the last three seasons (and only three other teams have done it twice over that same span).
Perhaps the most impressive part of that stat is that they have also topped 100 points in two of those three seasons, and in fact have the top two point totals – and three of the top nine – of any “score a lot, give up a lot” team over that span. So… silver lining?
