The Noon Number: You Can’t Stop the Beast

25 - Number of games in Alex Ovechkin’s career in which he’s picked up a goal at even strength, a goal on the power play, and an assist, including last night’s three-point effort in the win over the Wild.

That moves him into sole possession of 7th all-time in that department (breaking a four-way tie with Glenn Anderson, Michel Goulet and Teemu Selanne). He’s now just one back of Jaromir Jagr’s 26; three more for Ovechkin and he’ll move past Brendan Shanahan into the top five.

Just another area in which he’s keeping some elite company these days.
