A look at how many Caps chipped in on offense last season

23 - Number of days remaining until the start of the Capitals’ 2019-20 season. But it’s also...

...the number of Capitals who scored at least one goal during the 2018-19 campaign, their highest total since 2013-14 when 28 different Caps picked up a goal.

Despite being a highwater mark for the Caps, it actually placed them towards the bottom of the League overall in that department. In fact, only the Islanders (22), Jets (21), and Lightning (21) had fewer players with at least one goal (with four other teams — Philadelphia, Calgary, Carolina and San Jose — tied at 23).

Some of that may have been related to the relatively low number of players dressing for the Caps last season, which equaled 26 — which also was among the lowest in the League. Only Nick Jensen (20 games played), Jonas Siegenthaler (26 GP) and Nathan Walker (3 GP) dressed but did not find the back of the net.
