14 - Number of days remaining until the start of the Capitals’ 2019-20 season. But it’s also...

The number of 30-goal seasons for Alex Ovechkin over his career. Ovechkin is tied with Wayne Gretzky, Marcel Dionne, and Gordie Howe for third place in all time 30-goal seasons, trailing only Jaromir Jagr (15) and Mike Gartner (17). Howe and Ovechkin are the only players in NHL history to reach 30 or more goals with one team 14 or more times, Howe doing it 14 times with the Detroit Red Wings.

Ovechkin has reached that level in each of his 14 seasons to date. He and Gartner are the only players to have recorded that accomplishment, and Ovechkin can tie Gartner for the longest streak of 30-goal seasons to start a career (15) if he reaches that mark this season.
