The Blackhawks scored twice in 1:20 in the first eight minutes of the game with goals from Brandon Saad and Patrick Kane. Brooks Orpik got the Capitals on the board with the 18th goal of his career to cut the deficit in half, but an own goal from Dmitry Orlov brought the Hawks’ lead to 3-1.
