7 - Number of players on the current Capitals roster who could appear in their first-ever NHL postseason game once the playoffs get underway next week. Christian Djoos, Madison Bowey, Jakub Vrana, Chandler Stephenson, Shane Gersich, Jakub Jerabek, and Travis Boyd all make up the rookie squad ahead of this year’s playoff run; that number jumps to eight if you include players with fewer than two games under their belt, as Michal Kempny is a veteran of one whole game with the Blackhawks last season.

Those eight players have combined for a grand total of 429 games of regular-season NHL experience; for context, there are eight other players on the roster who have accumulated more than 429 games on their own.
