A look at how the team’s third- and fourth-line guys have stepped up

3 - The average points per game for the Capitals third- and fourth-line players in December. Through nine games this month, players who have spent their time in the team’s “bottom” six have racked up 27 points - including 13 of the team’s 36 goals (third-most in the League).

Leading the way is once-healthy-scratch Brett Connolly, who has six points in his last nine games (5-1-6), but the offense has been pretty evenly distributed among the eight players who have been rotating in and out of the lineup, with each of them picking up at least three points.
