A couple of goals from Joel Ward, a couple of big saves from Braden Holtby, and a multitude of hits from Brooks Orpik helped the Caps earn a big two points in Calgary, as a feisty affair at the Saddledome gets the Caps back on track.

Look for our full recap later, but first, Sunday morning’s Plus/Minus:

Plus/Minus:

  • Plus: After picking up their first regulation loss of the season earlier this week, the Caps rebounded nicely with a strong performance (in a strange game) to put the Flames away – exactly the right response to a little setback, and a good way to head into Vancouver.
  • Minus: The Capitals allowed Dennis Wideman to score his 300th career point. The former Washington defenseman tallied the career marker (his 82nd career goal) with ten seconds to play in the second period…. yeah, we much prefer current Cap milestones to former Cap milestones.
