17 – Number of days remaining until the start of the Washington Capitals’ 50th season. But it’s also…

…the number of times the Caps have had a winning streak of at least seven games in a single season. Their first streak of that nature took place back in 1983-84, when they strung together 10 wins in a row – a streak that still stands as the second-longest in franchise history. The longest? A 14-game run back in January/February of 2010, during which they outscored opponents 67-33 (including going 17-for-55 on the power play, a 30.9% clip).

For their most recent 7+ winning streak, you unfortunately have to go back a couple of seasons to the 2020-21 campaign
