Capitals Extend Martin Fehervary

Confirmed by the team, the Caps have re-signed defenseman Martin Fehervary to a six-year, $42-million contract that would kick in a year from now:

Fehervary had a solid 2024-25 season (catch up on his Rink Wrap here), and with the salary cap rising dramatically over the next few years, that $6-million AAV isn’t nearly as much as it might seem on first blush. Ultimately, this is a fair deal for both sides for a player that was sorely missed during the Caps’ playoff run in the Spring.
