Did Alex Ovechkin score? Nope.

Plus: After dropping their last three in regulation, it felt important for the Caps to get off to a strong start in this game. They did just that, putting eight shots on net and jumping out to a 2-0 lead before the game was five minutes old.

Minus: The start was good. The finish…well, that needed work, as the Caps took too many penalties and apparently thought they were going to coast to victory, letting an eventual 3-0 lead slip away by the third period and a 4-3 lead late in the third to force overtime.
