Plus: How about Tom Wilson, picking up another two-goal game for himself? Both with the extra man, as well, which was a nice thing to see after the team’s mini-slide on the power play (just one in their last 11 coming into tonight).
Minus: Tonight’s was admittedly fluky and thankfully not the result of sustained pressure by their opponent, but the Capitals once again allowed the first goal of the game, something that’s become far too much of a habit for this team. The fact that they can come back doesn’t mean they should repeatedly put that skill to the test. Tonight marked the fourth time in the last five and the seventh in their last nine games in which the other team has scored first.
