Buffalo comes into tonight’s game just hours removed from clinching their first playoff spot in 14 years – courtesy of the Rangers’ win over Detroit earlier today – which could mean one of two things for tonight’s Caps-Sabres game. Either the Sabres will be too giddy to perform well, or they’ll be so amped up and eager to prove themselves that they’ll come out flying and demolish the home team.
Um…we know which one we’d prefer, as the Caps are staring down the barrel of just their second missed postseason over that same 14-year span and need every point they can get the rest of the way.
