Capitals vs Rangers Recap: Caps Strike Early And Never Look Back in 4-0 Win

Dec 9, 2023; Washington, District of Columbia, USA; Washington Capitals right wing Nicolas Aube-Kubel (96) celebrates with Capitals left wing Beck Malenstyn (47) after scoring a goal against the New York Rangers during the second period at Capital One Arena. Plus: Aside from a few chances from Alexis Lafreniere early on, the Rangers really had nothing threatening going offensively. Really complete game from the Caps on D, holding New York to mostly perimeter shots that didn’t challenge Lindgren much.

Minus: Ovechkin didn’t score. Not even trying to be snarky here, that’s the only negative I’ve got for this one.

Caps Player of the Game: Could give this to the entire team, but Charlie Lindgren gets the nod for his 4th career shutout.

Final Thoughts: Hm. So that’s what rooting for a team playing against the 2022-23 Washington Capitals felt like.
