Saturday night, the Caps had their five-game winning streak snapped rather unceremoniously by the Tampa Bay Lightning (and really mostly Andrei Vasilevskiy). They’ll be looking to start a new one against another formidable foe – and one they know quite well, between divisional battles and last year’s short-lived but rather feisty opening round playoff series. That’s right, the New York Rangers are in town for a Metro Division matchup.
First, some admin stuff:
- Who: Capitals vs. Rangers
- Where: Capital One Arena
- When: 7:30 p.m.
- How to Watch: ESPN
- How to Listen: 106.7, Capitals Radio 24/7
For the first time since Game 2, the lineup should have a slightly different look, with Mike Sgarbossa drawing in. Coach Carbery was playing a bit coy with who would be between the pipes, though, so we’ll just guess that he’s continuing the see-saw and it’s Logan Thompson’s net tonight.
Protas – Strome – Ovechkin
McMichael – Dubois – Wilson
Vrana – Sgarbossa – Mangiapane
Duhaime – Dowd – Raddysh
Chychrun – Carlson
Fehervary – McIlrath
Sandin – van Riemsdyk
Thompson
Lindgren
On this date in 1974… the Caps were once again off for the evening!
