Capitals vs. Predators Recap: Game-Winning Goat in Caps 3-2 Win

Did Alex Ovechkin score? Hell yeah, he did, Goal #861 coming off a beautiful pass from Dylan Strome.

Plus: The Young Guns 2.0 continue to stay hot, with both Connor McMichael and Aliaksei Protas scoring their eighth and fifth goals of the season, respectively. This is actually the fourth time in the last five games that McMichael and Protas have had goals in the same game; the loss to Carolina was the lone exception in that stretch.

Minus: Six power plays. Six. And zero goals. Yes, some of them were abbreviated because they overlapped with Nashville power plays, but still – 0-for-6?? Fix. The. Power. Play.

Our Three Stars:
*** Dylan Strome (2A)
** Juuse Saros (33 saves)
* Alex Ovechkin (1G, 1A)

Scheduling note: While we always want to provide the best coverage possible, sometimes self-care takes precedent – so there will not be a follow-up “How the Game was ” post in the morning for this game. We’ll be back to our usual coverage in a few days, and appreciate your understanding.
