After a couple of tough losses in New York, the Caps return home for the final game of 2023 – a rare (these days) non-Metropolitan matchup against the visiting Predators.

First, some admin stuff:

  • Who: Capitals vs. Predators
  • Where: Capital One Arena
  • When: 7:00 p.m.
  • How to watch: Monumental
  • How to listen: 106.7, Capitals Radio 24/7

After a game last night followed by a quick turnaround, it’s hard to know what the Caps’ lineup will look like – although it’s possible we see the season/Caps debuts of both Max Pacioretty and Ethan Bear this evening. Ivan Miroshnichenko headed back to Hershey earlier today, with Hunter Shepard coming the other way to replace an injured Charlie Lindgren.

So…let’s give this a shot as a potential lineup, and please take it with many grains of salt (and be kind if it’s way off):

Ovechkin – Strome – Wilson
Protas – McMichael – Mantha
Lapierre – Kuznetsov – Pacioretty
Malenstyn – Dowd – Aube-Kubel

Sandin – Carlson
van Riemsdyk – Bear
Edmundson – Jensen

Kuemper
Shepard
