Did Alex Ovechkin score? THRICE.
Plus: It sounds crazy to say this in regards to an 8-3 win but yesterday the Caps didn’t look great, and got that lopsided win thanks to some opportunistic scoring and some lackluster goaltending and defense by their opponent. Today it was a different story, as the Caps came out and pretty much dominated from start to finish, not really letting up once they took a big lead (despite giving up a couple of goals later in the period).
Minus: Ovi came thisclose to scoring a hat trick on a wide-open net and missed? (But then he just went ahead and got it on an actual empty net, so…)
