The Caps are coming off an 8-1 shellacking of the Blues over the weekend – and several days of rest – and now face a tough Maple Leafs squad looking to bounceback from a shutout loss at the hands of their cross-Ontario rivals last night. The good guys will, hopefully, avoid what happened to them the last time they were rested and faced a team on the second night of back-to-backs…
First, some admin stuff:
- Who: Capitals vs. Maple Leafs
- Where: Capital One Arena
- When: 7:30 p.m.
- How to Watch: Monumental
- How to Listen: 106.7, Capitals Radio 24/7
Expect the lineup to remain mostly the same – for now – as newly reacquired Capital Lars Eller will not arrive in town in time to face the Leafs. The one change? A switch in the usual goalie rotation, with Logan Thompson earning his second-straight start:
Ovechkin – Strome – Protas
McMichael – Dubois – Wilson
Mangiapane – Lapierre – Vrana
Duhaime – Dowd – Raddysh
Chychrun – Carlson
Sandin – Roy
Fehervary – van Riemsdyk
Thompson
Lindgren
On this date in 1974: The Caps, having just snapped a 10-game losing streak with…well, a tie…against the Atlanta Flames kicked off a new losing streak against those same Flames in Atlanta. [Game Notes]
