Capitals vs. Lightning Recap: Tight Battle but Same Result in 3-2 Loss

Caps put up a fight but it’s not quite enough in second-straight loss

The Caps’ last game was a bit of a chaotic mess, with the Caps roaring back from a 3-0 deficit only to fall apart late on the penalty kill. Tonight’s game was much more of a battle, an evenly played game from start to finish…although some of the themes remained the same.

Plus: Nice to see Brandon Duhaime and the fourth line get on the board in this one.

Minus: Once again, the Caps’ power play taketh away, the penalty kill also taketh away. There weren’t a ton of chances with the man advantage for either side – just one apiece – but the Caps squandered their one chance and the Lightning did not, and that was the difference.

Caps Player of the Game: Let’s give it to the man with that dog in him, Brandon Duhaime, for scoring his first of the season.
