Capitals vs. Kings Recap: Caps Win Tight Game 3-1

Plus: As expected, this was a tight, low-scoring affair between two very good teams. Good job by the Caps matching the Kings’ defensive prowess, minimizing the glaring mistakes, and getting timely scoring.

Minus: The Caps’ penalty killers have killed off 84.2% of the power plays they’ve seen this season, but for some reason they’re having trouble with some of the power plays that are struggling the most. Last week it was the Dallas Stars, whose power play has been hovering around 16%, cashing in; this time around, it was the Kings and their mighty 14.9% power play. There is a little “even broken clocks are right twice a day” happening (after all, 14.9% is not 0%)…but still.

Our three stars:
*** Logan Thompson (25 saves)
** Pierre-Luc Dubois (2A)
* Aliaksei Protas (2G)
