Plus: The Caps played a really good game. Hard to find anything that wasn’t a plus outside of not scoring.

Minus: Caps continue to be very unlucky.

Key Moment: When the Islanders scored their third goal more than halfway through the game on just their fifth shot… it was deflating.

Caps Player of the Game: Connor McMichael took well to playing center which isn’t surprising because he’s been so good all season. He’s only going to get better.

Final Thoughts: This game has kind of been the summation of the Caps season so far. No shooting luck for them and all the shooting luck for the opponent. Luckily it’s still early in the season and you’re allowed moral victories. If Caps continue to play like that game they’ll win most of them.
