Capitals vs. Islanders Recap: Chychrun Gets the Caps 5-4 Win in Overtime

Plus: We all know the Capitals’ struggles on the power play to start the season, but they have been getting better and better as the season has gone on. You’d think without Alex Ovechkin, the numbers would go bad, but they they have now scored 10 power play goals in their last 10 games including two in today’s game.

Minus: The Caps have had a recent habit of playing a little worse at home, having already left at least three very attainable points on the table in DC with a loss to a tired, bad Pittsburgh Penguins team and an overtime loss to a tired Toronto Maple Leafs team. The Islanders aren’t bad…but they aren’t good either, and that second period in particular, where the Caps gave up four goals, was not what we should be seeing out of this Caps team – especially in their own barn.
