The lineup? Still battered. The odds? Still against them. But the Caps are currently riding a massive two-game winning streak following a shootout win over the Wings back on Thursday and a come-from-behind overtime win over the ‘Canes on Saturday. Now they just need to find that same fire, that same focus, and apply it to what will be a tough one-two punch over the next two days to extend their streak further.
It’s early February, so no game is truly “must win” at this point…but man, a back-to-back set against the Islanders and Flyers – two teams the Caps are scrapping with for the third spot in the Metro – is probably as close as it gets.
