Capitals vs. Hurricanes Game Thread 4/10

Right this way to your Caps-Canes open thread…

895 achieved, Sunday’s loss in Long Island was a free pass for the team…because honestly, who could focus on playing good team defense when history was just made?

Now, however, the focus has to be back on getting ready for the playoffs and finding the next level to their game. They’ll get a good test of their ability to do just that as they resume acquaintances with the Hurricanes, a rematch of a feisty affair a little over a week ago that saw Carolina pretty well pummel the Caps on the scoreboard and both teams pummel each others’ faces. Pride and bragging rights and not much else on the line for either team in this one, but it’s always entertaining when these two longtime rivals go head to head.

First, some admin stuff:

  • Who: Capitals vs. Hurricanes
  • Where: Capital One Arena
  • When: 7:30 p.m.
  • How to Watch: Monumental, ESPN+, Hulu, Disney+
  • How to Listen: 106.7, Capitals Radio 24/7

Yesterday’s practice saw Taylor Raddysh filling in on the top line, perhaps more as a way to see what the rest of the lineup looks like without Aliaksei Protas, and it’ll be back to Charlie Lindgren in net:

Ovechkin – Strome – Raddysh
McMichael – Dubois – Wilson
Mangiapane – Eller – Leonard
Duhaime – Dowd – Beauvillier

Sandin – Carlson
Fehervary – Roy
Chychrun – van Riemsdyk
