Thursday night, the Caps had a little setback, seeing their three-game winning streak – and their streak of scoring tons of goals – snapped in a 2-1 loss to the Avalanche. They’ll look to bounce back with another tough opponent tonight when they wrap up their mini-homestand against the Devils in the penultimate game in a divisional season series that will, weirdly, wrap up next week.
First, some admin stuff:

After the offense went quiet against the Avs, Coach Carbery made a few more minor tweaks…or, more accurately, tweaked some things back to how they were and instead just added Ivan Miroshnichenko into the lineup in Ovechkin’s usual spot (with Jakub Vrana sitting as a healthy scratch):
Protas – Strome – Miroshnichenko
McMichael – Dubois – Wilson
Lapierre – Eller – Mangiapane
Duhaime – Dowd – Raddysh
Chychrun – Carlson
Sandin – Roy
Fehervary – van Riemsdyk
Lindgren
Thompson
