Tuesday’s win over the Flyers kicked off a final stretch that will see the Caps face opponents who are almost all Metro Division rivals, with five of their last seven games of the season against the division. That continues tonight, when they head up to Newark for the last time this year to go up against a Devils team that has been fairly hot lately – too little, too late for their playoff hopes, perhaps, but a 9-5-0 March is still a pretty decent run. If the Caps want to keep their own postseason hopes alive, they’ll need to do what they did against the Flyers: play hard, play desperate, maybe play a little cleaner…and take a much needed two points out of New Jersey.
