A physical (but not in a good way) and lopsided (but definitely not in a good way) Game 3 behind them, the Caps get a second shot at calming the Bell Centre crowd and taking a commanding series lead. They’ll likely have a little more help this time, as it seems like Aliaksei Protas will make his return to the lineup.
Meanwhile for the Canadiens, starter Sam Montembeault is out day-to-day and will be replaced in net tonight by backup Jakub Dobeš for his first playoff start.
First, some admin stuff for Game 4:
- Where: Bell Centre
- When: 6:30 p.m.
- How to Watch: Monumental, TNT, TruTV, MAX
- How to Listen: 106.7, Capitals Radio 24/7

Goalie Matchup:
Logan Thompson (2-1, .917, 2.73 GAA) vs. Jakub Dobeš (1-0, .875, 2.02 GAA)
As mentioned above, look for big #21 to make his 2025 postseason debut, and Logan Thompson will be a gametime decision (which probably means he’s in) – no word on who comes out just yet, but this is what we could see tonight:
Ovechkin – Strome – Protas
McMichael – Dubois – Wilson
Mangiapane – Eller – Leonard
Duhaime – Dowd – Beauvillier
Chychrun – Carlson
Sandin – Roy
Alexeyev – van Riemsdyk
