Capitals vs. Canadiens Recap: Another Opportunity Lost, Caps Fall 3-2 (OT)

Did Alex Ovechkin score? Nyet.

Plus: Ethen Frank’s absolute hustle to negate an icing and then set up Lars Eller for the game-tying goal in the third period was exactly the kind of life that line needed. Really nice start for Frank in his NHL career (offensive zone penalty aside).

Minus: For the second-straight game, the Caps had their most sluggish period in the second period, giving up two goals – including a goat rodeo of a shorthanded goal – and being outshot 13-4. Just frustrating to watch this talented team look absolutely disinterested for long stretches lately.

Our three stars:
*** Jakub Dobes (15 saves)
** Ethen Frank (1A, first career NHL point)
* Nick Suzuki (GWG)
