Thursday night was a bit unexpected (in the best possible way) as the Caps held on to get a late game-winner against the streaking Buffalo Sabres and pick up a crucial two points. That journey to defy expectations and maybe squeeze into the postseason continues this afternoon, as they get another matinee date with the Bruins – this time back home in DC. The vibe should (hopefully) be a little different than the last time around, when the Caps were still reeling from the trade deadline. They’ll certainly need it to be.
