The first game of the Florida Mentors trip went pretty well for the Caps, as they beat the Panthers 4-1 on the back of a solid defensive performance and a couple of goals by Lars Eller. Now they face another tough task, taking on the Tampa Bay Lightning – a team that just dropped eight goals on the Colorado Avalanche a couple of days ago. The Caps will be looking to not only keep the good times rolling but also get some revenge for the last time they clashed with the Bolts and were Vasilevskiy’d in a 3-0 loss.

Caps were off yesterday doing fun Mentors Trip things so we’ll just guess that the lines will look similar to what they were on Monday, with Charlie Lindgren back between the pipes:
Protas – Strome – Wilson
McMichael – Dubois – Raddysh
Lapierre – Eller – Mangiapane
Duhaime – Dowd – Miroshnichenko
Chychrun – Carlson
Sandin – Roy
Fehervary – van Riemsdyk

On this date in 1974: The Caps finished the second of a home-and-home series against the Minnesota North Stars, following up a 4-4 tie at home with a 6-4 loss on the road in which they let a 3-0 lead slip away. Alas. [Game Notes]
