With the 180th pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, the Washington Capitals have selected blueliner Aron Dahlqvist of Brynäs IF of the SHL.
Dahlqvist’s strengths are on the defensive side of the puck. At 6-foot-3 and over 200 pounds, he can be a strong physical presence, capable of rocking opponents with big hits and delivering punishment at the net front. The reach also allows him to disrupt plays and surprise attackers. These qualities have also made him a mainstay on the penalty kill.
