A look at a power shift for the Caps last season

...the number of power play goals scored by T.J. Oshie last season, which led the Caps and was tied with Joe Pavelski for the second-most in the NHL (two behind League-leading Leon Draisaitl). Despite the shortened season, that marked a new career high for Oshie and just the third time he’s cracked double-digits in power play tallies.

It also was just the second time in Alex Ovechkin’s career that he did not lead the team in power play goals; the only other time it’s happened was way back in 2006-07, when Alexander Semin’s 17 PPGs narrowly edged out Ovechkin’s 16. (He also tied once, when both he and Mike Knuble scored seven in 2010-11.)
