13 - Number of days remaining until the start of the Capitals’ 2021-22 season. But it’s also...
...the number of power play goals scored by T.J. Oshie last season, which led the Caps and was tied with Joe Pavelski for the second-most in the NHL (two behind League-leading Leon Draisaitl). Despite the shortened season, that marked a new career high for Oshie and just the third time he’s cracked double-digits in power play tallies.
It also was just the second time in Alex Ovechkin’s career that he did not lead the team in power play goals; the only other time it’s happened was way back in 2006-07, when Alexander Semin’s 17 PPGs narrowly edged out Ovechkin’s 16. (He also tied once, when both he and Mike Knuble scored seven in 2010-11.)
