A look at how the Caps’ defense provided a boost in offense

...the number of goals scored by Caps’ defensemen last season, the fifth-highest blueline production in the League. Unsurprisingly, that offense was led by John Carlson, who put up ten goals (the sixth time in his career, and fourth-consecutive, that he’s hit double digits in goals). Perhaps more surprisingly, right behind him was Dmitry Orlov, who put up eight goals - just two shy of his career-high in that department, which he earned in a full 82-game slate.
